Art Direction
As a graphic designer with years of experience, I decided to embark on a personal project that allowed me to explore the intersection of my cultural identity, blending my Arabic heritage with the Western influences shaping my creative journey. Given my passion for typography, I began by designing unique typefaces that captured a “Westernized” aesthetic, drawing on the fluidity of typography script while incorporating contemporary Western design principles. These typography designs quickly evolved into a series of posters and art pieces that I displayed in an art gallery, receiving positive feedback for their innovative style. From there, my work naturally transitioned into the world of fashion. I started by printing my designs on t-shirts using silkscreen, which eventually led to the creation of more elaborate fashion statement pieces. As my vision expanded, I launched a merchandise line and held pop-up shops in
diverse locations such as Kuwait and Cairo, where I connected directly with my audience. I art-directed the entire brand, carefully curating every detail— delegating tasks from photoshoots to the overall marketing strategy, including managing the Instagram account. With the success of my online store, I reached a milestone of selling 500-700 pieces annually. Throughout the project, I was fully immersed in every aspect of its creation, from art direction to branding, infusing all my skills and experience into its growth.
